Divorce is a final way to protect your boundary fr Divorce is a final way to protect your boundary from someone who violates it, but most of us forget to protect it the three other ways first, or we only have PERCEIVED boundary violations. Then we begin to constantly ask whether or not it’s time to divorce. Once you’re reactive to someone in a relationship instead of intentional in it, your brain will start feeding you information supporting the most fearful path, whether it’s the right path or not. Set your North Star! #divorce #boundaries #intention
Be more attractive! I learned this long ago now, w Be more attractive! I learned this long ago now, was sure it wouldnt work, but it did. Live a fun life! They’ll come along with you but won’t plan the fun on their own. #adhd #teacher #consciousness #marriagehacks
The prefrontal cortex that manages judgment and ma The prefrontal cortex that manages judgment and making good decisions is only JUST developing in first or second-graders. Expecting them to sit still, be quiet, and stay focused for hours on end is a HUGE ask. They are literal babies on the self-regulation front.

When a teacher, rightfully frustrated by her distracted class, then yells at the students or threatens punishment, she demonstrates her own lack of self-regulation. Our ability to use and control our emotions instead of letting them control us is a skill developed through other adults when we are children, and through hard inner work when we're already adults. Teachers, who often get students' attention hostage for seven hours a day, have a great opportunity to model self-regulation so the budding brains and bodies in their care can do it as well.

However, we have to work with their developmental stage with great awareness and empathy and be ready to give them help focusing with lots of breaks and chances to move, talk, and be silly. Playing a game like Simon Says, Freeze Dance, or Red Light-Green Light is another way to help children develop this skill. And some kids "act out" purely because they can't read or do something that's being asked of them, or because they learned it ages ago and are bored out of their minds.

Kids often need more than what their class can give them, so the adults around them need to be empathetic to their experience, especially when they can't fix it. Behavior change happens when needs are met. (If it's boundary-violating behavior, the child needs to be moved away from other kids until everyone is safe, then get the 1:1 support they need.)
Empathy, or being able to hold space for another p Empathy, or being able to hold space for another person to process their experience, is challenging if your parents never modeled empathy for you. I used to always listen to fix, tell someone how they were wrong, or share my own story. The act of showing another you hear what they said and you understand their experience can only be done when you're consistently hearing and understanding yourself.
